The rate at the conference hotel, Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, should be $139.00 (plus taxes, which will be added) per night. You can reserve a hotel room at the conference hotel, Loews Ventana Canyon, using this link or by calling the hotel at +1-800-234-5117 (and be sure to mention ACM/SPLASH). Even after the early registration deadline you should still be able to make a reservation with the hotel.
Loews is still accepting reservations for the nights of October 21-24, which are what you would need for the main conference. However, the Loews Ventana Canyon hotel is fully committed for the nights of October 19, 20, and 25, so if you want a room for one of those nights they can only put you on a waiting list. If you are staying over some of the nights that the hotel is sold out for, then you might need to stay outside of the conference hotel at another hotel during some nights.

You can register on-line or via PDF using the SPLASH registration system. Early registration extends to September 21, but you can also register after that at a higher rate. If you register by the early registration deadline, then you will be entered into a drawing for a free pass to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum! Note that you will have to separately make a reservation for a room at the hotel.

For transportation from the airport (and returning to it), we will have a van service running at a few times from the Tucson airport, details found in the registration system. Taxi service costs about $60 each way from the airport. It is also possible to rent a car and drive to the hotel. Having a car may be useful if you would like to be able to eat meals at other places besides the hotel, but it won't be necessary.

By Air
There are two airports to choose from when flying into Tucson, Arizona:
- The Tucson International Airport (TUS), which is a 35 minute drive to the Loew's Ventana Canyon Resort; and,
- The Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), which is a 2 hour drive to the Loew's Ventana Canyon Resort.
Visa Requirements
Regarding Temporary Visitors to the U.S., the U.S. Department of State states the following:
International visitors add greatly to our nation's cultural, education and economic life. We continue the proud tradition of welcoming visitors to the United States, with secure borders and open doors.
However, the U.S. state of Arizona has a law (SB 1070) that make it wise to always carry your passport and visa with you. But there should be no need to panic about this, as according to the travel information section of the Arizona Travel Facts website, "In regards to SB 1070, please note that Arizona police officers will not ask for identification unless some violation of Arizona law has occurred." The Arizona governor's website also says that police should not ask to see identification unless some other violation has occurred.

Dining
Conference attendees have multiple on-site dining choices - the Canyon Cafe for breakfast and lunch, Bill's Grill for lunch and an early evening snack, The Cascade Lounge for casual afternoon and evening meals, and the Flying V Bar & Grill for evening dining.
Hotel

Parking
If you are registered at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, there is no separate parking fee for your car. Likewise, for those conference attendees who choose to stay at a different hotel, there is no parking fee during the day. However, if you are not registered at the resort, the resort will charge you a $9.00 parking fee if you leave your vehicle in the resort parking lot over night.
Regional Events - Before, During, and After
The Tucson area has an active calendar for different types of music and theater entertainment. This list is a small sample of events in the area. If you are interested in attending any local events during your visit to the Tucson area, you should do an Internet search to find the most current event list.
Transportation
If you do not have a car, transportation options between the resort and the Tucson area are limited.
